What to Expect in Therapy:
Before our first session, I’ll provide you with some initial forms to complete, including a brief intake questionnaire and consent forms. These documents help me get to know you better and ensure our time together is productive right from the start. Once the paperwork is completed, we’ll schedule an initial meeting where you can share your goals, ask questions, and get a feel for my therapeutic style. This first session is an opportunity for us to build rapport, discuss what brings you to therapy, and create a plan tailored to your needs. My goal is to make the process as comfortable and stress-free as possible, so you feel supported every step of the way.
Therapy is a collaborative process tailored to your unique needs and goals. In our sessions, you can expect a warm, nonjudgmental environment where you feel safe to share and explore your experiences. We’ll start by setting clear goals for what you want to achieve, whether it’s healing from past trauma, improving your self-esteem, navigating a life transition, or strengthening your relationships.
I believe that therapy is not a one-size-fits-all process because each person’s experiences, needs, and goals are unique. That’s why I use an integrative approach, blending evidence-based modalities to create a personalized plan that works best for you. Whether it’s exploring past experiences through trauma-focused techniques, addressing thought patterns with CBT, understanding how past experiences affect current behavior with psychodynamic therapy, emphasizing personal growth and meaning with person-centered therapy, or incorporating mindfulness to stay grounded in the present, I tailor each session to meet you where you are. Together, we’ll find the tools and strategies that resonate with you, ensuring therapy supports your growth in the most effective and meaningful way.
I want to help provide you with tools to help you manage challenges outside of sessions. You’ll have space to process your thoughts and emotions, gain new perspectives, and develop practical strategies for personal growth.
Therapy is not always easy, and some sessions may feel challenging as we address difficult emotions or patterns. However, I will be there to support you every step of the way, helping you build resilience and confidence as you work toward the life you want.
The Benefits of Private Pay Therapy - If you choose to utilize
When it comes to prioritizing your mental health, private pay therapy offers a range of benefits that put your privacy, flexibility, and personalized care first. One of the most significant advantages is the added confidentiality. Unlike therapy billed through insurance, private pay ensures that your personal information remains solely between you and your therapist, giving you complete control over your mental health records.
Private pay also allows therapy to be fully customized to your unique needs without the restrictions imposed by insurance companies. There’s no pressure to fit within a set number of sessions or to meet specific diagnostic criteria to qualify for coverage. Instead, we can focus entirely on your goals, progress, and pace, making the process as effective and supportive as possible.
Another benefit is the freedom to choose the therapist who feels like the right fit for you. Insurance networks can limit your options, but private pay ensures you have access to the best match for your personality, preferences, and therapeutic goals. Plus, there’s no requirement for a formal diagnosis, which means we can work together on personal growth, self-discovery, and other challenges without labeling your experiences.
Finally, private pay therapy simplifies the process. You don’t have to deal with insurance claims, denials, or waiting for approvals. It’s a straightforward and stress-free way to invest in yourself and your well-being.
Choosing private pay therapy is a commitment to receiving care that is truly tailored to you, free from the constraints of insurance, and focused entirely on your healing and growth.

Walk and Talk Therapy
Benefits of walk and talk therapy:
Being outdoors in a natural setting often promotes a sense of calm and reduces stress. For some individuals, sitting face-to-face with a therapist can feel intense or intimidating. Walking side by side allows for a more relaxed and natural flow of conversation. Walking has also been shown to enhance creative thinking and problem-solving. The rhythmic motion of walking can help organize thoughts and bring new perspective to challenges.
Engaging in light physical activity during therapy can support overall well-being. Walking imrpves circulation, released endorphins, and helps regulate mood, making it a holistic approach to care.
Important things to consider before beginning walk and talk therapy:
When engaging in this type of therapy approach, it is important to consider that there may be potential risks to confidentiality due to the setting being outdoors and it may not be able to provide the same level of privacy as an office - locations will be considered where conversations are less likely to be overheard.
Other considerations include physical ability, weather conditions, safety, and personal preferences. Here are some questions to ask yourself prior to committing to a walk and talk therapy session:
Are you comfortable being outside and walking while in engaging in therapy?
Are you okay with the possibility of seeing others or being seen during the session?
Do you feel physically capable of walking during a session? If you do have any medical conditions, mobility issues, or limitation, let’s discuss alternatives or adjustments - such as meeting outdoors at a picnic table. Sessions will be tailored to your comfort so we can adjust the pace and distance as needed.
Do you think you’ll feel more relaxed and open talking while walking, or do you prefer sitting face-to-face?
Do you think you’ll be able to focus on our conversation while walking, or might the outdoor environment be distracting for you?
What is walk and talk therapy?
Walk and talk therapy is a form of therapy that takes place outdoors while walking alongside your therapist. Instead of sitting in an office, sessions are conducted in a natural setting such as a park or trail, where the movement and fresh air can create a more relaxed and open environment. It combines the benefits of therapy with physical and mental health benefits of being active and spending time in nature. Sessions are flexible and tailored to your comfort and goals, ensuring privacy and professionalism throughout.
Who are these services for?
This service can be beneficial for those who find it easier to process their thoughts while moving or who feel more comfortable talking in a less traditional setting. Walking side by side often reduces the intensity of direct eye contact, which can help some individuals feel more at ease.
This approach is ideal for those who enjoy bein active, find traditional therapy settings limiting, or are looking for a new way to engage in the therapy process. It’s especially helpful or addressing issues like anxiety, depression, stress, and life transitions.
